As part of ‘World Book Day’ celebrations, we had a visit from one of the UK’s leading children’s poets (Wes Magee) who launched a poetry week in school. We also had an ‘Extreme Reading’ Competition. Many of us were captured reading in really unusual places – from dentists’ chairs to halfway up climbing walls and mountainsides! Our poems were on display during Parents’ Evenings for them to enjoy. Our parents were really impressed!

The winner of our ‘Extreme Reading Competition’ (Isla Hogarth Year 6) was captured reading while scaling a climbing wall!
Isla really is an avid reader and enjoys a wide range of books. With her £10 Book Token prize, she treated herself to two new books!
Well done Isla!
