My links to Edmondsley primary school go back almost thirty years. My two children attended the school and I was a governor at that time. I was asked years later if I would like to be a governor at the school again. As I was then coming up to retirement I felt it was something I would have time to do.
My career has always been in teaching. I taught in mainstream primary for ten years before having a family. Returning to teaching a few years later home tuition led me into special education. I got a job in the local special needs school where I worked for twenty years in the primary department before retiring.
I am now enjoying my retirement attending fitness classes, swimming, walking, meeting up with friends, reading and holidays in term time.
I can usually be found in school Tuesday afternoons and Thursday mornings hearing children read or helping where needed.
